She has a design eye that directly contributes to an increase in aesthetic pleasure, good feelings and home value. As an experienced interior designer with more than ten years of experience, She has developed a knack for creating designs and spaces that scream modern, sophisticated and fun. She has flipped more than 50 houses, and understands the science behind selecting and making changes to increase resale value. She has designed for commercial and hospitality, in addition to numerous private homes.
Originally from a farm in Minnesota, she was raised to build and fix structures, as needed, for the family. For that reason, she has substantial experience in carpentry, wall treatments, baseboard molding, framing windows, tile work, flooring, wallpapering, painting and installing light fixtures. Melissa has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and opened a Las Vegas interior design firm, Parlor 430, which opened in 2011.
In addition to the work she does with Parlor 430, she was the winner of the second season of Brother vs. Brother on HGTV. The show is a competition-based reality show, where two teams work to add the most value to their assigned home.
